Would you like to volunteer with PRISM?  Thank you for your interest in volunteering with PRISM.  We are honored that you would choose PRISM as a place to give your time and share your talents. Due to the unique work that PRISM does, engaging with people who speak other languages, and come from other nations, cultures and faiths, we request a few steps be taken before launching you into international missions right here in Pittsburgh!

PRISM Connections is our one on one relationship building program at PRISM, a way to give the 13,000+ international students that reside in Pittsburgh an opportunity to befriend a local Pittsburgher.

Our main objective is that you make time to meet with your student once a month, and according to the type of connection you choose, both of you can:

1) Build a true Friendship.
2) Work on your English conversation skills (English Partner).
3) Go through our Mentorship curriculum which will prepare them for life beyond academia.

Open House Church Sponsorship

On the first and third Fridays of every month PRISM hosts our Open House program, which is our way of extending hospitality via dinner and topical discussion. If you and a team from your church community want to partner with us in this ongoing program, please click the link below to discover opportunities.

Hospitality House Care

PRISM’s Hospitality House at the corner of Monitor & Beechwood in Squirrel is our home to various ministry programs and activities.

From weekend cookouts with students to women’s coffee times, this home is a place of belonging and gathering for our international student community. If you are interested in helping us maintain the upkeep of this property in a variety of ways, please click the button below to learn how.

English Conversation

Many international students arrive in Pittsburgh with room for improvement with their English skills, which is why we offer our Thursday evening English conversation group. If you want to help students and scholars in this area, we are always looking for new volunteers eager to assist students with pronunciation, speaking clearly, and sentence structure.

To help serve in this area please sign up below or email Bernadette at bernadette@prismpgh.org

Garage Giveaway

Our biggest outreach event of the year is our Garage Giveaway, an event running for over 40 years now! It’s our way of partnering with the churches of Pittsburgh to provide newly arriving international students free furnishings for their living space.

This event is happening on August 17th, and we need your help!
